Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) & General Information
If you have ANY questions, please call one of our helpful Office Staff members at
(813) 671-5115 and dial 0 for assistance.

Will we get to meet our teacher before school starts?  Your family is invited to our annual “Meet and Greet” on Thursday, August 8, 2019, from 4:30 - 6:30 PM.  Children will be able to meet their teacher and locate their classroom prior to the first day of school.  Meet and Greet is not a conference night.  If your child will be going home by car this year, you may come to the office to receive a car tag (with your child’s name) for your car.  You must have proper identification and be listed as male or female head of household on the emergency card to receive the car tag.  If you do not have a car tag, even the first day, you will have to park and come in the office to sign your student out after dismissal at 1:55 PM.  Car tags from last year may not be used.

What are school hours and lunch prices?
Arrival Time:   7:10 AM – 7:40 AM (last bell rings) – PLEASE allow time to eat breakfast and be on time!
Student Hours:     7:40 AM – 1:55 PM (Every Monday students will be released at 12:55 PM.) Students signing in after 7:40 AM will be tardy.
Office Hours:     7:10 AM - 3:00 PM
Meal prices:    $2.25 for lunch.   Breakfast is free daily for all students EVERYDAY!

What if I need to sign my child out early?  During the school year, anyone signing a student out early MUST be at school by 1:10 PM (12:10 PM on Monday), have a photo ID, and be on the Emergency Card.  There are no sign-outs allowed between 1:10 – 1:55 PM.  Early sign-outs are for emergencies and occasional medical appointments only.  It is not appropriate to sign children out early on a regular basis. Our School Social Worker will be in contact with families who regularly sign students out.

How do I find out the bus stop for my child?   The Transportation Department only allows students to get on/off at the bus stop closest to their residential address.  Your child’s specific bus stop/times are included in the “Bus Stop Information” section of our Student Information page. There is a form that you MUST complete which will inform us if your child will go home by bus, car, walk, attend day care, etc. FOR YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY, THE SCHOOL DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY PUT STUDENTS BACK ON THE SAME BUS IN THE AFTERNOON THAT THEY RODE TO SCHOOL IN THE MORNING.  WE MUST HAVE THE EXACT BUS STOP # OR LOCATION IN WRITING FROM THE PARENT.  Please note that some bus stops have changed/been eliminated from last year!

If we do not have enough information to send your child home safely, especially the first day, we will keep him/her safe at school until you contact us.  Please allow your child to go home the first day the same way that they will travel home all year.  This makes dismissal much safer for your child and easier for the bus drivers.  While buses traditionally arrive home later than normal the first few days of school, they will arrive home earlier if we have the information from you to make sure that every bus rider at dismissal is actually on their correct bus.

May a kindergartner go home alone? NO!  A kindergarten child who does not have an older sibling with them or an adult waiting for the child at the bus stop or designated walker pickup point, will be returned to the school by the bus, or kept at school if walking/riding a bike.
